Bachelor in Business Administration

Eligibility Criteria

  • Successfully cleared HSSC or equivalent exam.
  • A-Level students must have a minimum of C grade in their principle subjects.
  • Those who have taken the HSSC or an equivalent examination and are awaiting results can also apply.
  • Selection to BBA program will be significantly dependent on qualifying the aptitude test and interview thereafter.
  • Those who have a combined score of 1500 or more in the SAT-1 examination will also be considered and given a waiver on the aptitude test.

BS(Applied Accounting and Finance)         4 Years

Pre-requisite:   Intermediate or equivalent

                        At least 45% marks

The program consist of 144 credit hours comprises of 46 courses and one research project of 6 credit hours. The four years program consists of 8 semesters.

Program Objectives


The B.S Applied Accounting and Finance is a four years innovative degree program. The curriculum has been blended to meet the challenges of rapidly evolving business accounting and financial environment. The theoretical and practical frame work of the core and elective subject will enhance the managerial ability to make effective business decisions. Besides this program will not only provide the potential students an excellent foundation for advanced career in accounting and Finance but will also meet the organizations requirement for appointment as Accounts/Finance Managers. The organization can even substitute this degree for professional accounting degree prescribed for appointment as Accounting and Finance Professionals.

BS-Commerce Program

Program Objectives:

The Bachelor of Commerce program at  Hamdard Institute of Management Sciences (HIMS) is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills and abilities they need for successful careers in the public and private sectors, graduate studies.

The program will facilitate an understanding of the relationship between diverse business subject areas. Initially students receive a general overview of all subjects and then get the opportunity to specialize in the final two years.

Eligibility and Course Requirements:

·        An eligibility criterion is intermediate or equivalent with 45% marks.

·        The program consist of 140 credit hours comprises of 46 courses including one research project of 6 credit hours. The four year program consists of 8 semesters.

·        Admission fee is Rs.15,000 (One time Only) and Fee per credit hour is Rs.6000.

B.E. Electrical Engineering

Accredited by Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC)

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate should have passed the Intermediate (Pre-Engineering) Examination in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics with at least 60% marks from a Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education of Pakistan or an equivalent examination recognized by HEC. This criterion is in-line with the guidelines from Pakistan Engineering Council.

Equivalent Examinations:

The following examinations are considered equivalent (for admission purposes) to the Intermediate (Pre-Engineering) Examination with Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics of the Pakistani Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education:

  • Intermediate (Pre-Engineering) Examination of the Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Azad Kashmir.
  • Cambridge Overseas Higher School Certificate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • British General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) with Mathematics as an additional subject.
  • American High School Graduation Diploma (12th Grade) or equivalent.
  • B.Sc. in double maths, physics from an HEC recognized university.
  • Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE) with relevant subjects.

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate should have passed the HSSC or equivalent examination with Mathematics and Physics subjects with 50% marks. Candidates applying on the basis of an equivalent examination will be required to get an equivalence certificate from the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC), Islamabad, Pakistan. This criterion is in-line with the guidelines from National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC), an accreditation authority established by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) to regulate the Computer Science education in Pakistan.

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm-D)

A Pharmacist, after receiving formal education and training in Pharm- D program, is considered a drug therapy consultant and drug information specialist, who can undertake manufacturing, quality assurance, marketing, supply system, procurement, storage, distribution and use of drugs in the industry, hospital or in the community practice.

Hamdard Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences Pharm-D program envisages the challenges of today and tomorrow and the students are trained to meet these challenges. The program offers wider career opportunities for pharmacist in the industry, hospital and community.

Hospital Training

For our Pharmacy students, Federal Government Services Hospital (FGSH) in Islamabad provides an excellent opportunity of interaction and learning. This is a 508 bed hospital with over 500 doctors working in 27 different specialities. The hospital has an average daily turnover of over 2000 patients. The students also have the opportunity to interact and visit the 27 allied dispensaries attached with the hospital. The students work and gain experience in Pharmacy Stores, Pharmacies, Cardiac Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, Emergency, General Medicine Ward, Blood Bank and Laboratories. Students are evaluated for attachment by submission of projects, ward reports and presentations.
